Meet Our Pastor

Chris Coggins – Pastor

Chris has served as the Pastor of Beacon Ridge Baptist Church since January 2025, where he is dedicated to leading a community rooted in the mission to “Know Christ and Make Him Known.” Feeling called to the ministry at the age of 18, Chris’s journey began during his six years in the United States Air Force, where he served in numerous volunteer leadership and teaching roles. He continued his commitment to mentorship while attending Texas State University, serving high school and college students until his graduation in 2000.

Chris carries forward a significant spiritual legacy, coming from a multi-generational family of ministers that began with his grandfather, James C. Laird of Dallas, TX. His extensive background—which includes many years as a youth pastor in both Texas and California, as well as experience as a church planter—shapes a leadership style guided by a vision to be a “Biblically based, Christ-centered, and Spirit-led” church family.

He and his wife, Adrienne, have been married and serving in ministry together for 29 years and are the proud parents of four sons: Dallas, Jackson, Tyler (TJ), and Brock. When away from the pulpit, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, following soccer and basketball, and crafting rustic wood furniture. Above all, he is driven by a desire to cultivate an environment where the Austin community can truly experience the love of Christ and the depth of His Word.
